Expressing concern over increasing incidents of persecution of Hindu-Sikh religious minority communities in Pakistan Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh urges Prime Minister Imran Khan to strictly follow Nehru-Liaquat pact. In a press release chief of RSS Punjab Sr. Brij Bhushan Singh Bedi has called upon the world community to take cognizance of increasing incidents of atrocities on religious minorities in Islamic Republic of Pakistan and pressurize Pak Govt to safeguard their human rights. RSS has condemned the abduction and forcible conversion of Hindu girl Bharti Bai, Mehak Kumari and Sikh girl Jagjeet Kaur and incidents of damaging a Temple and described these as medieval age mentality. In his statement Sr. Bedi says that abduction of Bharti Bai from her marriage Mundup and marring her to a Muslim youth after conversion to Islam in Halla town of Matiyari distt, Sindh is testimony to the fact that rule of law in Pakistan is proving to be incapable of providing security to its own citizens. It is a matter of grief that instead of victims the Pakistan Police sided with perpetrators of crime.
Sr Bedi said that Pakistan should also follow Nehru-Liyaqat agreement like India and concentrate on safety and development of its religious minorities because they are also the natives of Pakistan.
Sr. Bedi told that Deval Bhitani Temple in Chhachro town of Thar district Sindh which was damaged is our historical heritage. This temple was built in the memory of Mata Deval, born in 1373 (Samvat 1444), who is considered an incarnation of Maa Hinglaz Devi. Mata Deval Bhawani is revered not only in Pakistan but in India as well. Sr Bedi wondered that in this month only a fanatic attack took place on Nankana Sahib Gurudwara and now a historical temple is defiled and some fanatic people are destroying their heritage and Govt. is looking helpless before them. It is needful for Pakistani Govt. to make arrangements to safeguard religious minorities and their historical heritage.
